Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish muse of the fight against climate change, was the arch-favorite of the bookmakers. Donald Trump had also been proposed but his chances of receiving the prize were tiny.

The economy price will close the season on Monday.

The laureates receive a check for 9 million crowns (830,000 euros), to be shared if necessary between recipients of the same prize, as well as a gold medal and a diploma.
