In the district of Gironde, the women's football team Red Coqs is forced to lose his matches not to receive a fine.

"In the locker room before the game, the coach tells us that we will have to lose, but he wants to see the game," says Samia Dahnouni, football player in the amateur team of Red Coqs Bordeaux.

And last September 15, the deposit was applied wonderfully. In the 85th minute, as the Girondines led 4-0 against Bazas, they found themselves having to score five goals against their side to actually lose the match (see video below).

"The players opposite did not understand, the referee either," says Dahnouni. Indeed, on the video, and while the goalkeeper puts the c.s.c, misunderstanding wins the opposing team. "It's not football, I would have preferred not to play," said a coward. Same scenario in the following match where the Red Roosters artificially lose 5-4 against Gradignan, having led by 4 goals to 0.

The regulation does not want more than six players transferred

Faked sports betting? Wrong coach? Love of defeat? No, the explanation lies in the Gironde district regulations. This stipulates that a team can not play more than six "mutated" players, that is to say, who have joined the club in the offseason. And this is the case of the women's section of the Club des Coqs Rouges de Bordeaux. Created two years ago, the team suffered a slaughter last season. "There were only two players left, the others were gone," said Guillaume Bogvad, now head of the team and vice-president of the club.

After a successful communication campaign, the section now has 32 players, more than enough to make two teams: one that will play in the championship to 8 like last year, and the other, new, in the one to 11. But aligning these new recruits, the club is exposed to financial penalties. "They provide for a fine of 70 euros per player in addition to the six that are allowed," explains Guillaume Bogvad. Sums that accumulated, would be a blow to the small budget of the club.

As there are special provisions for team creations, Red Roos did not think of falling under the regulation of "mutated" players. The district, he says that if. As a result, the Red Roosters do not respect the rules and the clubs that face them can deposit a reserve.

The goal of these reserves is to get the match won on green carpet, the opponents do not deposit them in case of lost or no match. So that's why Red Roosters apply to win none.

"We must adapt the rules", asks the vice-president of the club

A fussy application of the regulations that seems ridiculous, while the team evolves at the lowest level of the French women's football ladder. And while the problem concerns other clubs.

"In the Coupe de France, the club opposite wanted to deposit a reserve while he also did not respect the rules on this subject". A happy coincidence that allows Red Roosters to post a win this season.

"We have to adapt the regulation. We can not have the same as men's football, which has been structured for 70 years, "asks the club vice president.

Contacted on Tuesday, the district could not be reached. But he told Red Roosters that he could do nothing at his level to change the rules.
