It was about 1am in the night from Monday to Tuesday, when a fire broke out in the "Bunker Bar" on Lamborelle Street in Bastogne (PHOTOS). The firefighters of Bastogne intervened very quickly on the spot. The fire being particularly violent, the great means had been deployed to circumscribe the flames. "A reinforcement has also come from Houffalize," says Stéphane Thiry, the fire captain of the province of Luxembourg.
Four evacuees
In total, four people were evacuated from the building? One of them had to be hospitalized. This is a 35 year old man who was found unconscious in the building. He was taken to a state deemed "critical" at the University Hospital of Liège.
Warned bourgmestre
The origin of the fire would be accidental. Nevertheless, investigative duties are in progress. The intervention of the firefighters of Bastogne lasted more than four hours. During the intervention, the Grand-Rue was closed to traffic. Benoît Lutgen, Bourgmestre of Bastogne, was warned. Philippe Collignon, the 1st alderman, went on the spot.
For his part, Stéphane Thiry notes the "remarkable work" done by the twenty firefighters on site.
