The two children had been found Sunday evening by the gendarmes, alerted by their mother. "The content of a writing found in his mailbox and emanating from the children's father made him fear that the latter could have attacked their lives and commit suicide," said the prosecutor of Strasbourg, Yolande Renzi.
The mother, who was to recover her children, entrusted since Thursday evening to their father, "had found that no one in the home of the father, he replied," still according to the floor.
Investigation in progress
The man, who tried to put an end to his life, was found alongside his two children and was hospitalized, told AFP a source close to the case.
The mother of the children explained to the gendarmes "to have been separated from his spouse for more than a year without any judicial procedure having been initiated and to have set up with him an alternate custody," added the prosecutor.
The investigation must "determine the schedule of custody since taking care of children Thursday night and the exact circumstances of his passage to the act."
It was entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie of Strasbourg.
A victims' aid association has been appointed to the family of victims, said the prosecution.
