No effort is spared to locate a 19-year-old man from Quebec, whose disappearance has worried his family since Friday.
Gabriel Pineau was last seen late last Friday night when a taxi driver took him back to his father's home on Sous-Bois Street. Close and friends have no news since.
On Monday, the Quebec City Police Service deployed a mobile command post at the corner of Boulevard Sainte-Anne and Rue Francheville in the Beauport sector.
Patrollers raked along the bike path near the Dufferin-Montmorency Highway in all-terrain vehicles. The mother also took part in the research.
Several relatives and friends of the young man's family, for their part, also took the initiative to do research to support the mother.
The newspaper reported Sunday that the young man's cell phone was found in the grass near his father's residence. According to the young man's mother, Nathalie Tremblay, he sent a message to his friends saying that they would meet again in a few years, before disappearing.
"I would like to find my son, this is the first time he does that," she drops.
She said to herself in nothingness, there was nothing to suggest that he would disappear like this.
"He had no problem and did not seem to be in a difficult time. Not to my knowledge. We did not notice anything, "says Mme Tremblay.
Call to the public
The grieving mother reiterates her request to the public to keep an eye out for her son, but she prefers not to comment more on the disappearance so as not to interfere with the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 or, confidentially, 418 641-AGIR (2447), and for people from outside Quebec City, 1 888 641-AGIR, no cost anywhere in North America. The reference file is P19083100243.
