Carlos Vela reappeared with the LAFC after missing the last two games due to injury and the Mexican got his 28th goal of the season, which places him as the player with the second best scoring mark in a single season in the entire history of the MLS.

The former Real Sociedad is only three goals away from tying the record that Venezuelan Josef Martínez set just the previous season and he has four games left to do so. Before Toronto, Houston Dynamo, Minnesota United and Colorado Rapids, the Chivas youth player could write pure history in professional football in the United States.

Vela already records 28 scores in 27 games played during the 2019 season and boasts a goal scoring average of 1.07 points per game.
