The few events that punctuated the clearance sale

A new edition of Lille's big clearance sale was completed on Sunday night. And, from memory of
Lillois, we recognize that the vintage 2019 was particularly successful. No significant indices have been identified and
the weather has spoiled the hundreds of thousands of visitors to the world's largest garage sale. After surveying about 14 km of brady streets, 20 minutes has selected four stories to tell.

Brawl around the LREM stand

Saturday ended well for everyone when a fight broke out at the La Republique en Marche (LREM) stand, Porte de Paris, around 6pm. While the candidate of the movement in the municipal election in Lille, Violette Spillebout, and the general delegate of LREM were present, people physically attacked the militant walkers. One of them was wounded in the face and the alleged attackers managed to flee.

Rave party atmosphere in Old Lille

The major road works on Place Louise de Bettignies have made it possible to clear large areas for pedestrians. If, during the day, the place was reserved for the stands of bradeux, at night, the space was invested by a crowd of revelers. Thousands of people danced until the end of the night without worrying about the sleep of residents.

A suitcase that sows the mess

Sunday, around 14h, the discovery of a large abandoned suitcase on the Grand Place has a great mess. At the request of the deminers, the police had no choice but to evacuate the huge crowd that was there, leaving half-empty glasses and half-full plates on the terraces of bars and restaurants. The intervention of a dog specialized in the detection of explosives and the neutralization of the suspect package required the closure of the place for one hour. The suitcase did not contain anything dangerous.

A record was probably beaten

The sale, one comes there to hunt, to eat mussels fries, or both. On Sunday, two young Chinese tourists ordered the emblematic dish of the braderie at a brewery on rue Pierre-Mauroy. They were served quickly, around 15h. Although the portions were generous, without being gargantuan, it was only 2:15 later that the young women finally finished their meal. Never seen according to the boss of the brewery.
