Panamanian Mariano Rivera, a member of the Hall of Fame, received the Medal of Freedom from the hand of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, at a ceremony at the White House.
That distinction is the greatest recognition granted by the United States government to a civilian and an American citizen.

Trump congratulated Rivera when he entered the HOF and thanked him for what he achieved in the majors and his contributions to society.

The ceremony was held this Monday at 2:00 pm (US time) and included former basketball players Bob Cousy and Jerry West. The golfer Tiger Woods also said present.
