The Montreal Port Authority announced that it will work together with the Infrastructure Bank of Canada (CIB) to advance the development of the project of a new container terminal in Contrecoeur.
This, after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to guarantee infrastructure financing.
The agreement will include planning and pre-contracting activities for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the terminal.
The Port Authority explained that "the objective of the new terminal is to continue allowing importers and exporters to bring products to the market in a timely manner and support the economic growth and international trade of Canada."
