The event will be held in New York.</p><p class="speakableTextP2">The success of Pixel 4 will be key for Google. The Pixel 3 and the 3 XL have not sold very well despite their excellent cameras and good reviews. This could be because the phones are exclusive to Verizon (although they work with other operators in the United States), and because of the fact that consumers are not buying as many phones as before. The phones are also expensive, something that Google tried to face when launching the mid-range phones <span class="link" section="shortcodeLink">Pixel 3A</span> Y <span class="link" section="shortcodeLink">Pixel 3A XL</span> in May. Problems with the performance of Pixel 3 have also been reported, although in CNET we have not encountered these problems. Google will have to solve all these problems with the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL if it wants to increase sales. Although there are still several months to launch, the Pixel 4 will be the maximum representative of an Android device willing to compete with the strong opponents of Apple and Samsung. 

More than any other Pixel model that precedes it, we now have a better understanding and knowledge of Google's next flagship cell phone and what its operating system will be able to do. On August 7, the company launched the sixth and final beta of Android Q, now officially known as Android 10. In addition to the software, Google "leaked" an official image of the Pixel 4 in June and then made a YouTube video public about The facial unlocking capabilities of the phone.

Without further delay, this is all we know so far about Google's anticipated phones.

Google confirms Pixel 4 design

Google, citing the immense interest in the phone, posted an image of the back of the Pixel 4 in your official product account on Twitter.

In the image it is revealed that the Pixel 4 will feature a double rear camera, a significant change from the previous Pixel. The cell phone will have a square module with the two cameras, the flash, maybe an autofocus laser and a microphone.

Google confirms facial unlocking in Pixel 4

Google confirmed on July 29 that the Pixel 4 will have sensors to detect gestures and facial unlocking. The company released a video and a blog that shows that the Pixel 4 will have a Project Soli chip. This will allow the Pixel 4 to have facial unlocking, which is similar to Apple's Face ID technology, and the feature will be secure enough to verify digital payments. The chip can also detect movements and allow you to "skip songs, silence alarms and calls" just by moving your hand in front of the phone.

In fact, it had already been rumored that the Pixel 4 would have this Project Soli technology.

Project Soli is a technology based on a miniature radar that promises to recognize with great precision the movement of your hands and fingers at a certain distance to be able to interact with different devices.

The Pixel 4 will have a Pixel front camera

In June, 9to5Google reported that someone had seen the Pixel 4 in public and that the phone had two front cameras and a huge front. But a drawing of the Pixel 4 that Google made to show where the Soli chip would be in the front module also showed that the phone has only one front camera.

We are not sure why Google would get rid of a second wide-angle camera in the front, as it was very useful in the Pixel 3 to take selfies spacious. But, seeing how Google can produce portraits with a single camera, perhaps the Pixel 4 will be able to take standard and wide-angle photos with just software. Google has not responded to a request for comment.

Pixel 4 appears in official documents

Google is already mentioning in documents its next family of cell phones that would end up being called Pixel 4.

On April 2, the 9to5 Google site found evidence in official search company documents about the Pixel 4. The references are in the AOSP project for Android development. The documents only mention that the plans are to create a software for the Pixel 3 that works correctly and then take it to the Pixel 4 and for future products.

Pixel 4 could come without bezels

The well-known filter SlashLeaks published an illustration of the Pixel 4 that comes from the hand of the manufacturer of covers Skinomi. The illustration shows the phone with a screen with a hole and two front cameras (similar to the Galaxy S10 Plus). The Pixel 3 already has two front cameras, one of which is a wide angle lens. The image of Pixel 4 also shows that it has no bezels.

The Pixel 4 could have enhanced dual SIM capabilities

The Pixel 4 could have a function that allows the user to switch between two telephone lines. This is an update of Pixel 2 Y Pixel 3 (and his older brothers Pixel 2 XL Y 3 XL). These phones have a standard SIM card slot and an eSIM. Which means that although you can have two phone numbers on the same device, you could call, send text messages and use data on one line, while the other line had to be inactive. In other words, only one SIM could be activated at a time.

But the Pixel 4 could have two active SIMs. However, if one of the two is in use to make a call or send a text message, the other line cannot accept calls or text messages in the meantime. This is similar to how the new iPhone and current Android phones operate.
