Pan American medalists Marina Pérez, Diana Durango and Yautung Cueva participated in the rifle and pistol World Cup held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, an event that delivers seats to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, detailed the Press Department of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE).

Perez was the most prominent by the tricolor team at the end of 18th place in the 25 meter pistol competition and its location was among the best in America. “I am very proud of the work that has been carried out in conjunction with the federations, the COE, the Sports Secretariat. The truth is that I am very proud because thanks to all that support, to all this process, it is that one aspires to obtain better results. I am happy with what I achieved in this World Cup, but you have to keep working and improve those details, so it is a process, ”said Marina.

The athlete, who already has the ticket to Tokyo, faced the best in the world, among which were Olympic and world medalists. Marina also competed in the 10-meter air gun, where it was ranked 41st out of 82 competitors, and also in the mixed team test, alongside Yautung Cave.

In the same way, Diana Durango, who also has a place in Tokyo, finished in position 48Th.

For his part, Yautung finished in 33rd place in the 10m male air gun.

Once the International Shooting Federation finishes distributing the Olympic quotas, there is a possibility that Ecuador will receive one more quota. "My mind is set on that, I think it will happen, even my training planning is on that, because you have to aim and like every athlete never lose hope," Yautung said.

Now the team is getting ready for the South American Championship of Buenos Aires, which is the last event of the year. (D)
