The official accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram of the famous Spanish singer and songwriter Camilo Blanes Cortés, better known by his stage name Camilo Sesto, reported Saturday night his death.
"Dear friends. We are very sorry to inform you that our great and dear artist Camilo Sesto has just left us. Rest in peace," reads the message posted on his official social media accounts.
Camilo Sesto was born in Alcoy, Alicante, on September 16, 1946. He was a Spanish singer, songwriter and performer of romantic ballad, pop and rock.

Award Winning Singer
He was one of the flagship singers of Spain, awarded in 2011 with the medal "Maximum Hispanic pride" delivered in the city of Las Vegas in the United States. With more than 40 recordings recorded between 1970 and 1980. He was the interpreter with the most numbers 1. It is estimated that his sales exceeded 70 million copies.
As a composer he wrote songs for artists like Miguel Bosé, Ángela Carrasco, Lani Hall, Audrey Landers, Lucía Méndez, Manolo Otero, Sergio Fachelli, and José José, among others.
