Revealed at the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon 2019, and created in collaboration with the camperization specialist, Westfalia, developers of conventional Nugget models, the 6-meter Big Nugget is based on the long and high-roof chassis of the Ford model Transit, and offers 13 cubic meters of space and more than 2 meters high inside.
The Big Nugget concept takes full advantage of the extra space, creating four perfectly defined functional areas. In the front, the driver and passenger seats can be rotated to offer a spacious and comfortable living and dining area.
In the middle of the vehicle there is a separate bathroom area, with a fully integrated toilet, sink and shower; In addition to a practical kitchen with two gas burners, a large sink and a refrigerator of 70 liters capacity. At the rear, the room area has a 2-meter-long bed placed along the vehicle and designed to sleep two adults in it.
The Big Nugget concept explores the possibilities that a Camperized vehicle based on the Transit could offer, which Ford plans to introduce in the future in the European market, along with the Transit Custom Nugget.
The Ford Big Nugget concept will be exposed in Hall 16, D40 of the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon until September 6.
* Ford Transit Nugget fuel efficiency figures from 6.3 l / 100 km and CO emissionstwo from 165 g / km
Declared energy consumption, CO2 emissions and electrical autonomy are measured in accordance with the requirements and technical specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 in its last modification. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are specified for a vehicle variant and not for a single car. The standard test procedure applied allows comparison between different types of vehicles and different manufacturers. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behavior and other non-technical factors play an important role in determining fuel / energy consumption, CO2 emissions and the electrical autonomy of a car. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming.
As of September 1, 2017, some new vehicles will be approved according to the World Harmonized Procedure for Light Vehicle Testing (WLTP) in accordance with (EU) 2017/1151, last modified, which is a new test procedure Realistic to measure fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. As of September 1, 2018, the WLTP will completely replace the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), which is the current test procedure. During the elimination of NEDC, the fuel consumption of the WLTP and CO2 emissions are being correlated with NEDC. There will be some variation with respect to fuel economy and previous emissions, since some elements of the tests have been altered, that is, the same car could have a different fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
