Youness Baalla missed the opportunity to climb on the top step of the podium and was content with a silver in the "heavy" category (91 kg), after his defeat against the Algerian Abdelhafid Benchabla (1-3). In the semifinal, the 20-year-old Moroccan won against Kenyan Ocholla Elly Ajowi.
Yasmine Mouttaki of Morocco won the silver medal in the "flyweight" category (51kg), after losing her face-to-face match with Algerian Roumaysa Boualam (2-3).
In previous rounds, Yasmine had eliminated Congolese Modestine Munga Zalia (4-1) and Tunisian Amel Chebbi (5-0) in the quarterfinals.
