LVBP plans to expand import quota

Therefore, it is comforting that at the headquarters of the Caribbean Confederation it is known that the eight clubs of our league will jump to the ground, as they have already assured both at that level and in the LVBP.

As one of the strongest concerns of the Confederation and the LVBP refers to the quality of the show, the latter agency and its affiliates are answered with the imposition of an increase in the import quota.

There is talk of raising it to ten for each team, exactly double what had been agreed at the convention held mid-year in Caracas. At that time, without any prohibition by Organized Baseball, a reduction in the quota to five foreigners sounded logical. Unfortunately. The import of the equipment will come mainly from Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Nicaragua, Colombia and Cuba. It is not ruled out that US players detached from Organized Baseball and members of independent leagues take part in the tournament.
