LNBP will start its season 20 with new name and image

Season 20 of the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP) will be special. And it is that for the new edition three new teams arrived to form 17 in total and they will also be premiering with logo and name.

For the 2019-20 the Astros of Jalisco, Plateros de Fresnillo and Dorados de Chihuahua arrive at the championship to join Fuerza Regia, Miners of Zacatecas, Lumberjacks of Durango, Laguneros de la Comarca, Road Runner of the UAT, CB Santos, Hurricanes of Tampico , Captains of the CDMX, Soles de Mexicali, Aguacateros de Michoacán, Abejas de León, Panthers of Aguascalientes, Libertadores de Querétaro and Ángeles de Puebla.

In addition the league changes its name to Liga Sisnova LNBP thanks to the main sponsorship of the insurer: "An important sponsorship already has football with a bank, the baseball of the Pacific with a bookmaker and now we bet and invest in health, that is why we announced the Sisnova LNBP League"he declared Sergio Ganem, president of the League.

But there are still things to work, that is why for this campaign 20, which by the way is the last of Ganem As the main manager, they will focus on three main points:

“The challenge this year would be to maintain and consolidate what we have already done. The saying goes that the important thing is not to arrive but to maintain. And to speak of 29 million spectators, of more than one million people in the stadiums, all those things, is proof that it is an arduous work that we have done. For this year we must pay attention to the broadcast of the games on open TV, the theme of the Instant Replay and the expansion for 2020 with teams in the southeast and Pacific, that would be the goal ”, said the manager.

And they already think about the celebration of 20 years which would be with the official announcement of a women's and development league to continue promoting the practice of basketball throughout the country.

“Now if we are going to put the accelerator to the Development League, we are practically ready. The women's league is a matter of what happens this year to implement it in 2020. We will do it in the framework of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the LNBP ”.

Finally Gánem Velázquez, in his role as president of Fuerza Regia, he accepted that it will be a difficult championship because everyone will want to take away the title.

“The challenge is going to be tough. I want to be respectful of the other 16 teams that will participate. It is not going to be easy and the truth is that here is going to apply the saying: ‘May the best man win’ ”he concluded.

Sergio Ganem He will enter his last year as president of the LNBP and does not rule out re-election as the regulations permit.

“I don't know (if I'm going to stay as president of the LNBP), the statute allows me one more re-election, but we will honestly wait to see what happens in these months. If the league really needs me as president or if we are able to make room for someone else to come and occupy this chair. ”
