Brussels – Belgian tennis player Kim Clijsters, winner of four Grand Slam titles, announced Thursday that she plans to return to the courts.

Mother of three children, the Belgian, who retired after the 2012 US Open, said she wants a new challenge, in an interview published on the WTA website.
Clijsters, who began his professional career in 1997, took his first tennis break in 2007.
He returned after 26 months and won the US Open, to become the first mother to win a Grand Slam title since Evonne Goolagong did it at Wimbledon in 1980.

Clijsters successfully defended his title at Flushing Meadows in 2010 and his victory at the Australian Open brought her back to the top of the world rankings in 2011.
He had won his first Grand Slam scepter in New York in 2005.
"I don't feel like I have to prove anything, but I want to challenge myself and be strong again," he said.
“We will see if I can get the way to play tennis at the level I would like to be in, keep in mind where I want to go, and see if it is possible. See, first of all, if my body is capable of doing it. ”
The WTA said that as a former number 1, Clijsters can receive limited invitations to their tournaments.
