The Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) was surprised in Guadalajara, the end of the seventeenth stage of the Tour of Spain, after having lived "one of the fastest stages I've ever seen" in which he lost third place in the standings general.
"This has been one of the fastest stages I have ever seen. It has been incredible. My teammates did everything they could, just like the Jumbo-Visma or the Astana, so I was not overwhelmed.
The young talent of 20 years was calm before the decisive stages that await in the mountains of Madrid and Vila, in which he hopes to recover positions.
"There are many days left to attack the podium."
