Pablo Lyle faces a new legal landscape in his case of involuntary manslaughter, after the judge, Alan Fine, issued a court order to dismiss the defense claim that argued that Pablo Lyle acted in self-defense, under the law of "Stand Your Ground."
Obviously, things did not go as the defense thought and now they must assess whether they appeal the judge's decision to prove that Lyle mortally struck Juan Hernández because his life was in danger.
The criminal lawyer, Sandra Hoyos, explained to appeal the decision the defense would have to get a legal defect in the court order. And if the appeal is submitted, it would be necessary to wait from three months to nine months to get an answer.
Therefore, Lyle's future is still uncertain, although if found guilty he would have to serve a 15-year prison sentence.
As part of the judicial process they have paraded a series of tests in Court.
Last August, the evidence hearing was held in which for the first time all witnesses were called to testify and the evidence was exposed.

Some of the people who testified were people who were in the place where Hernandez died, the officers who first interviewed the actor after the events, his wife, his brother-in-law and Lyle himself.
Other evidence that has been paraded by the court is proof of what was in the Juan Hernández vehicle
In addition, a private interrogation or sworn examination was made to Hernandez's widow, Mercedes Arce.
Although these questions are not disclosed, those responsible for the interrogation find out everything they consider relevant for the case, such as the mental state of the victim, if he was an aggressive person, among other details.
Apart from the evidence that they paraded in the Court, the defense used in their favor the statements of the widow of Lyle, in the program 'Drop the Soup', where he said that his partner had been having a very bad day when the incident that occurred It cost life.
However, this did not help to dismiss the case considering self-defense, as Fine analyzed point by point what happened at the last hearing to reach its conclusion.
The defense has not determined whether the decision will be appealed or if the jury trial will begin today.
