San Francisco (USA), Sep 13 (EFE) .- The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, left the board of directors of Apple, which was part of since 2011, on September 10, according to documents delivered today by the company of the apple bitten to regulatory bodies from the USA

The Iger march took place on the same day that Apple celebrated its annual "big day" at its headquarters in Cupertino (California, USA), in which in addition to presenting new iPhone models, announced the launch date and the price of its new streaming content service, Apple TV +.

Apple TV +, which will be released on November 1, is called to compete with actors already consolidated in the Internet entertainment sector such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, but also with Disney's new service in this field: Disney +.

Disney + will launch on November 12 (just a few days after Apple TV +) and has generated even more expectations in the industry than Apple's service, since in addition to the new content it can take out, it has the gigantic product portfolio Disney entertainment.

In addition to the successes that Disney has reaped in its almost one hundred years of existence, the Californian company also has the products of companies of its own property such as Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm (producer of "Star Wars") and 20th Century Fox (producer of "The Simpsons").

Iger's resignation to Apple's board of directors must therefore be framed in a new context in which Disney and the iPhone manufacturer, who had collaborated in the past, will become direct competitors in the world of audiovisual entertainment on the Internet.

Apple announced in March the creation of its TV +, a service with which it had been speculating for years, and that will feature content from personalities known as Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Jason Momoa at a price of $ 4.99 per month. EFE
