CHICAGO – Kris Bryant and rookie Nico Hoerner fired two homers among their three hits, and the Chicago Cubs totaled four home runs to set a club record, reaching 237 in the campaign, to crush Saturday 14-1 at Pittsburgh Pirates
Bryant took her out with a fellow in the room and ended up with four drives. Hoerner's second home run in two days, a three-run hit in the sixth, eclipsed the Cubs' previous record, the 235 that hit in 2004.
Ben Zobrist and Puerto Rican Victor Caratini provided solitary home runs for the Cubs, who are looking to qualify for the playoffs for the fifth year in a row. Chicago has outscored Pittsburgh 31-9 in the first two games of the series, and has won three in a row.

The Cubs woke up as seconds on the table for the wild card, a game ahead of Milwaukee Brewers and four games behind St. Louis Cardinals, leaders of the Central Division of the National League.
