The airline Sunwing will offer direct flights to Varadero, Cuba, leaving the Ste. Marie Airport of Canada during the winter months.
According to Northern Ontario Business, the Toronto-based airline, Canada, announced on August 29 that it would introduce a seasonal weekly service in the Caribbean country between December 12, 2019 and April 9, 2020.
This same service has been provided by Sunwing to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Andrew Dawson, president of tourism operations at Sunwing, said the news was well received by Canadian seasonal workers.
“We are delighted that our service leaves Sault Ste. Marie has been very well received. As a result of the continuous support of the residents, we are excited to return to Sault Ste. Marie for the 12th consecutive season and provide convenient access to one of the most popular vacation destinations this winter.

Sunwing offers popular vacation packages with everything
included that include flights, accommodation and meals to various sun destinations in
all the world.
The airline also offers seasonal service from the airports of Sudbury, North Bay and Thunder Bay, Canada.
Sault airport is additionally served by Air
Canada Express, Bearskin Airlines and Porter Airlines.
This decision could help the regime improve its figures
tourism seriously affected by US sanctions.
Canada is the main issuer of tourists to Cuba, but
lately Canadians have chosen other Caribbean destinations in view of
the difficulties that arise in the tourist facilities of the Island.
