Tuesday will begin to take the Learn in all high schools in the country. The 473 thousand students of the last year (fifth or sixth according to the province) will render language and mathematics. In turn, tomorrow a representative sample of 21,600 students will respond on natural sciences and citizen education.

In addition to the boys, there will be a total of 35,450 agents in the education system involved in the evaluation, including coordinators, principals, veterans, teachers and federal observers.

It is the fourth consecutive year that the Aprender test is taken, which came to replace the National Evaluation Operative (ONE), which was applied during Kirchnerism.

Although the 11,400 high schools in the country must take the test, none of them will suspend academic activities. As indicated from the educational portfolio, there will be classes normally.

When they designed the Learn test, they were assessed at the same time to the sixth grade of primary school and the last year of secondary school. Starting last year, They decided to reduce the frequency of the test and began to alternate. In 2018, it was only for the elementary school; In 2019 it is high school's turn.

Since 2016, for union resistance, the great barrier they encountered was the low level of participation, especially in state management. In 2017, only 71% of public school students responded; very little if one considers that it is a census evaluation. In 2018, however, participation improved: 88% of the total students responded.

"We believe that participation this year will increase. It is the first time that there is no strike called by CTERA or provincial unions. The culture of evaluation has been installed as a fundamental issue. The directors, whether affiliated or not, realized that the information we provide in the reports by school is very useful, "he told Infobae Alejandro Finocchiaro, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.

Tuesday will take language and math. In language, in recent years, there was an obvious improvement in learning. On this occasion, they will be evaluated in reading comprehension with literary and non-literary texts, such as short stories and writings of scientific dissemination, to investigate in three capacities: interpretation, extraction and reflection.

In mathematics, where a deep stagnation persists – and even slight imbalance – will focus on problem solving, in areas related to number and its properties, functions, equations and inequations, geometry and measurement, and statistics and probability. In 2017, the last year mathematics was evaluated in high school, seven out of ten boys disapproved.

Tomorrow in 300 schools, elected representative of the national total, the boys will perform natural sciences and citizen education. In natural they will investigate topics such as living beings, matter, energy and the environment. As they explain, the exercises will be presented through situations of daily life, the natural environment or the context of a scientific investigation.

The main novelty is that, for the first time, it will also be evaluated in civic. Students will be asked to recognize facts, data and concepts related to citizenship. The contents will revolve around the National Constitution, the form of government, democracy and dictatorship, national authorities, rights and guarantees, human rights, the Argentine electoral system, identity, violence, gender equality and discrimination and road education. The operation will cost 345 million pesos.

"Every year we evaluate in language and mathematics because they are the two core subjects. In these years we also evaluated in natural and social sciences, we made a questionnaire about integral sexual education last year. We thought it was a good opportunity to include citizen education. We want to know what the kids know. Having concrete information to be able to make decisions and, if necessary, deal with curricular changes in the Federal Council, "said Finocchiaro.

Before the end of the month, between September 24 and 25, a sample of third and sixth grade students will answer the international ERCE test of Unesco, which compares the educational systems of the region. They will be evaluated in writing, reading, math and natural sciences. Further, Formosa, Misiones and La Rioja will do a self-assessment in their teacher training institutes; a process already carried out by 17 provinces at the beginning of the year.
