The New Democrats are asking the CRTC to oblige Cablevision to negotiate a framework agreement with Vidéotron so that it can use its competitor's network.

Videotron announced in July that it intends to offer its services to residential customers in Abitibi-Témiscamingue in the fall, but a few weeks later, accused Cablevision, owned by Bell Canada, of refusing to sign the agreement. already concluded between the two telecommunications giants.

In her letter to the CRTC, Christine Moore goes so far as to say that this is a new action by Bell Media / Cablevision to maintain its monopoly and deprive the citizens of Abitibi-Témiscamingue of a competitive price.

She asks the CRTC to compel Bell to negotiate in good faith with Videotron.
