(Washington) US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday to cancel his planned trip to Poland due to the hurricane Dorian who will be coming this weekend from the shores of Florida.
"In order to allow all federal government resources to focus on the coming storm, I decided to send our vice president, Mike Pence, to Poland for me this weekend," he said. Mr. Trump said from the White House.
The US president was expected Sunday in Warsaw for the 80e anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War which had started on the 1stst September 1939 by an attack of Nazi Germany against Poland.
Donald Trump had already canceled last week a trip to Copenhagen in early September and a scheduled meeting with the Danish Prime Minister, because it did not want to sell Greenland in the United States.
Hurricane Dorian, currently in the Caribbean, is expected to intensify and reach the shoreline of the southeastern United States around Sunday evening. He could then be ranked in category four on a scale of five.
