In legal documents obtained by Radio-Canada Estrie, the City of Sherbrooke Sum Quebec Issime to pay him the $ 90,000 to be paid no later than December 31, 2018, with interest of 12% per year, in addition to legal costs incurred.
This civil suit was filed on July 5, six months after the payment deadline. The City has previously filed a formal notice on June 10. These are normal deadlines according to the City's legal department, which emphasizes that it has three years to prosecute a creditor.
To finance the roof that permanently covers the outdoor show scene, the City and the producer signed a contract from 2015 to 2024, in which Quebec City Issime pledged $ 90,000 each year to the municipality.
Recall that the future of Nikitotek Square remains uncertain. The scene can not remain at its current location due to construction work on the new Grandes-Fourches Bridge. The City has not ruled on a new place to install the outdoor theater, a sale of facilities is not excluded. A meeting was scheduled to take place last week between Sherbrooke Mayor Steve Lussier and producer Robert Doré, but it was canceled. The mayor's office indicates that this meeting will not take place until the file is settled with the legal services.
Neither the Mayor of Sherbrooke nor Quebec Issime producer Robert Doré wanted to comment on the matter.
