The Quebec Cannabis Society (SQDC) is accelerating its growth in the Greater Quebec City area. A first store will open in the Beauport area.

It will be the fifth point of sale of the state corporation in the Capitale-Nationale. The facility, which will be located at 2625 Boulevard Louis-XIV, is expected to welcome its first customers by the end of next winter.

Last July, the SQDC also announced the opening this fall of a new store at 3930 Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard.

Over the past two months, the Crown Corporation has signed several new leases in Quebec City, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Georges, Mont-Tremblant, Rivière-du-Loup, Shawinigan, Grande Rivière, Matane, Lachute and Sorel-Tracy.

By March 31, 2020, SQDC management is still hoping to count on a network of more than 40 branches across the province. The crown corporation is currently looking for employees. The SQDC currently pays $ 14 per hour to its sales advisors and offers a pension plan and other benefits.

These recent signatures will bring to 32 the number of stores that will open by the end of next winter.

At the end of its first shortened fiscal year 2018-2019, the SQDC lost $ 4.9 million, despite revenues of $ 71 million.
