The search for the 15-year-old teenager who disappeared into the water at Saint-Quentin Island Park in Trois-Rivières resumed Tuesday morning.

The Sûreté du Québec divers will assist the police and firefighters of Trois-Rivières in their search operation.

The event occurred around 6 pm at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice River and the St. Lawrence River.

A mother and her four children had come to spend the day at the scene. The oldest of his sons, who was still in the water at that moment, would have sunk into the water for an unexplained reason. Other boaters tried to assist the teenager without success.

Several emergency services, including the Coast Guard and firefighters and the Trois-Rivières police, tried to find the missing person until 9:30 pm. A command post was also deployed to collect the testimonies of people who saw the events.

This would be the 51st drowning to occur in 2019.
