crafts. Discovering this beautiful craft, Monday.
Among the craftsmen installed at the Moulin des Arts are Jérôme Poussin and Karine Saint Maur, master glassmakers. These real artists, united in life, opened their workshop in the Pyrénées-Orientales 15 years ago. Trained at the Beaux-Arts de Cherbourg and Mans, Jérôme Poussin continued his apprenticeship in Rennes for two years, with Mr. Hemlbold, glass painter and Meilleur Ouvrier de France. To improve, he trained as a decorator at the European Center for Research and Training in Glass Arts (Cerfav), where he met his wife, a graduate of the plastic arts and painter and decorator in the event in Paris. The artist took part in the restoration work on the Quimper cathedral with the France atelier vitrail and the couple made the stained glass window of Saint-Valentin of the church of Taillet. The delicacy of the drawings is reflected in the diversity of sacred or secular subjects. Nature-inspired motifs, portraits, architectures or abstract variations make up the range of skills these professionals offer. Working with mouth-blown glass, stained in the mass or from painted or enamelled white glass, for classic, art deco or contemporary creations, these master glassmakers will welcome the public on Monday 5 August 14 h 30 to 18 h to present the profession of glassmaker.
Indeed, Jérôme Poussin and Karine Saint Maur are also decorators on glass and make objects of the table, lighting and jewelry worked with metal inclusions.
The quality of these artists, who regularly host stained glass workshops, reflects the selection criteria of the Moulin des arts, which is home to many other creators. Ceramist, dinandier, metalworker, engraver, foundry and other artists exhibit at the shop open every day in summer, except Sunday, 10 h to 19 h.
