Hockey: it discusses collective agreement within the NHL Players Association

            <p>The members of the NHL Players&#39; Association Executive Committee and other players will meet in Chicago next Wednesday to discuss the next collective agreement, according to our colleague Pierre LeBrun.

The NHLPA has a clause enabling it to withdraw from the last year of the agreement. For its part, the NHL has until Sunday to do the same.

LeBrun says both sides have been talking about the work contract this summer, but the extent of progress is not known at this time. He added that a statement from the league is expected over the next few days.

During each of the last two negotiations, the Bettman circuit has had a break from its activities. The entire 2004-2005 season was sacrificed, as well as almost half of the 2012-2013 season.

If neither party rejects the last year of the agreement, it will end at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 season.
