The New York Islanders have signed a two-year contract with Quebec striker Anthony Beauvillier.

The terms of the deal have not yet been confirmed by the Islanders, but The Athletic and the CapFriendly website report that Beauvillier will receive $ 2.1 million per season.

Aged 22, Beauvillier scored 18 goals and added 10 assists in 81 games last season. He took part in eight playoff games, earning a goal and assistance.

Selected in the first round (28e rank) by the Islanders in the 2015 draft, Beauvillier has amassed 48 goals and 88 points in 218 games in the NHL. He had 206 points in 178 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Beauvillier wore Canada's colors at the World Hockey Championship in 2018. He also won a gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka tournament in 2014 and a bronze medal at the World Under-18 Championship. , in 2015.
